David Stanley Flood, age 74, of Seymour, the beloved husband to Judith Delaney Flood, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was born in Derby on December 20, 1938 son of the late Stanley and Sophie Sherwinsky Flood. Dave was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and was a retired Chemist most recently as Technical Director of Derby Cellular Products. An avid golfer, Dave enjoyed being outside and gardening. He had many hobbies including model building and growing orchids. Dave enjoyed playing softball for many years throughout the Valley. He will be sadly missed by all. Dave's loving family, in addition to his wife Judy, includes his loving children David O. (Barbara) Flood of Southington, Cynthia Flood Hughes of Sandy Hook, Kate Flood Kane of Durham and Jennifer Rosene of Plymouth, NH, his sister Carole (Harry) Zuella of Oxford, eight cherished grandchildren, five cherished great-grandchildren, life-long friends Al and Mary Karg of Killingworth, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John and Rosemary Delaney and Dr. Michael and Jean Sharon, several cousins, nieces and nephews and the Members of The Reunion Committee of Seymour High School Class of 1956. Dave was predeceased by his brother William Flood. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Dave's life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour.Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour.
