John P. Leon, 86, of Seymour, husband of the late Ann Shuster Leon, entered into rest on January 6, 2012. He was born in Bridgeport on October 28, 1925, son of the late Peter and Mary Leon. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to his retirement, John had worked for F.D. RichCompany, BF Goodrich Sponge Rubber Company and the Handy Harmon Company. He was a WWII US Army veteran and received the European, African, Middle EasternTheatre medal with two campaign stars. He was also the recipient of a PurpleHeart. John was a member of the Order of the AHEPA, a member of the Society of Professional Engineers, was very active in Seymour politics, and was a former member of the Seymour Board of Public Works. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Blalock; four step-children, Maximillian Jaroszewski and his wife, Laura, of Florida, Steven Jaroszewski and his wife, Cynthia, of Sandy Hook, Monika Armstrong of Florida and Diana Clifford and her husband, Gary, ofOxford; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
