Joseph William Norton

Joseph William Norton, 93, of Oxford, beloved husband of the late Elaine Joyce Godshall Norton, entered into rest on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Birmingham Health Care Center of Derby. He was born in Waterbury on March 20, 1918, son of the late James and Sarah Howe Norton. Joseph was Plant Superintendent for the former Seymour Manufacturing Company and the Bridgeport Brass Company, and had worked at the plants for many years. He was a life-long Oxford resident, was devoted to his late wife, Elaine, and enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed Western stories. Joseph will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

His loving family includes his son, James J. Norton and his wife, Bernadette, of Beacon Falls; his three daughters, Elaine Fiordelisi and her husband, Salvatore, of Shelton, Judy Jo Barbash, and her husband, Michael, of Oxford, and Priscilla Norton of Naugatuck; a sister, Ethel Rallis of Seymour; his eight cherished grandchildren, 17 cherished great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews;

The Funeral Service and Interment will be private.
